Licensee Training

Did you know in NSW, many different types of businesses are required to have a Licensee? These can include, but are not limited to, bottle shops, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes, and restaurants serving alcohol.

The Licensee training superbases basic training, providing you with essential skills and information to operate a licensed venue while ensuring you remain compliant with Liquor and Gaming NSW regulations, and legislative requirements. Not only is a Licensee required by law, but completing this training give you the skills maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons and staff alike, that the basic RSA training does not cover. So, raise your glass to knowledge by completing your licensee training, the ultimate toast to compliance!

Forget the hassle of doing an online licensee course, with technical difficulties, poor connection, it can be a headache to even begin the course. With our in-person Licensee training, all your training is completed in one day, at our conveniently located Sydney CBD training centre.

The Licensee training comprises three components:

  • Group discussion in the classroom
  • Assessment based activities, completed at our office (requires writing) 
  • Role-playing practical exercises, with trainer and other participants (requires verbal skills)

The Licensee pre-requisites are

  • Students must have a current NSW RSA Competency card
  • Students MUST be at least 16 years of age to do the training (Please note that you cannot use the competency until you’re at least 18 years of age) 
  • Students must possess at least a basic understanding of English to be admitted into the class.
  • All students are required to present valid photo identification on the day of training

Important: If you want to renew your RCG certificate, please complete an RCG refresher course within 90 days before starting the Licensee training by contacting Liquor and Gaming. If you choose not to renew your RCG endorsement, contact us to fill out an RCG Surrender form, which will result in the loss of your RCG qualification upon submission.
